Bevill State moving forward with traditional learning plan - Daily Mountain Eagle

Traditional learning will resume, as scheduled, at Bevill State Community College campuses next week.

The college sent out a press release Tuesday morning to relay that nothing had changed regarding the college's plan for traditional learning and that in-person learning would resume on Monday, Jan. 25.

"Bevill State Administration will continue to carefully monitor the situation and will be prepared to take any necessary precautions based on published guidance issued by the Alabama Department of Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Office of the Governor of the State of Alabama, and the Alabama Community College System Chancellor," the press release read.

The release continued, "Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, dates, events, and locations may change. The college will update this information as needed. For the most current information on Bevill State Community College’s response to coronavirus (COVID-19), go to www.bscc.edu/coronavirus."

Bevill State President Dr. Joel Hagood previously stated in early January that the college and its instructors are prepared should students need to resume virtual learning at any time.

"This is a fluid situation and the leadership of BSCC will be continually monitoring the situation," Hagood said. "We appreciate the support and understanding of our students and the communities we serve as we are faced with making these difficult decisions.”
