WHEELING, Ill. (AP) — The Korean Cultural Center of Chicago is hosting an exhibition to celebrate the Lunar New Year. “The Unique Lines of Korea: Hanbok” is the title of the exhibition highlighting a major holiday in South Korea. Hanbok is a traditional colorful two-piece garment worn for formal and semi-formal occasions and for festivals, celebrations and ceremonies. The exhibition, which runs through March 3 at the Wheeling-based cultural center, features hanbok from past and present. Many featured items were brought to the U.S. during immigration of the 1970s and 1980s.
