The boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams from Legacy Traditional School in Queen Creek performed very well at a recent Canyon Athletic Association competition.
The boys’ team finished second in the CAA competition, which included schools from all over the Valley. The girls’ team placed fourth. Both teams were led by Coach Rudolpho Vera.
Team members practiced an average of 15 hours a month as a team, as well as individually to perfect their stride. Eight girls and 16 boys participated and qualified for the 2020 State Championship Race.
"This was the best season so far. It's been my pleasure to coach these wonderful athletes. They keep getting better and better and they are making history for Queen Creek Legacy,” Mr. Vera said. “The athletes have performed above and beyond the expectations at the beginning of the season. We have really come together as a team and have accomplished some great things! I am proud of them and their hard work this season."
Legacy Traditional School is a K-8 charter school located in Queen Creek.
