Downtown Evanston and the Evanston Association of Indians (EAI) founded by Bindu Reddy, are hosting Evanston’s first-ever Holi Fest, an Indian celebration that marks the beginning of spring, renewal and love. It is traditionally celebrated by throwing colored powder into the air and dancing to Bollywood music.
All are invited on Saturday, March 19, 11am-1pm at Raymond Park to welcome spring together! Mt. Everest Restaurant will have samosas and vegetarian and non-vegetarian lunch boxes for sale. One River School of Evanston will provide a festive backdrop for color-filled photos. Colored powder packets will be available for sale for $2.
