Louisville City FC will begin the 2020 season wearing its traditional crest, the club announced Tuesday.
On Dec. 16, LouCity unveiled a new logo that dropped the team's gold color, but received negative feedback from fans. Just three days after announcing the new crest, the club reevaluated and halted production of merchandise with the new logo.
The process of selecting a new crest is ongoing, the club said.
“We are very appreciative of the time and effort our fans put into sending us their suggestions for our new crest,” LouCity president Brad Estes said in a statement. “We collected hundreds of responses and we are encouraged by our supporters’ passion for this project. Together, we found several designs that we genuinely liked, but we want to make sure we are devoting the proper time and resources that this process requires.”

LouCity, which reached a third-straight USL Championship final in 2019, will open its 2020 season at the new Lynn Family Stadium in Butchertown. The team will play its home opener on April 11 against Birmingham Legion FC.
The club's design process will continue over the next several months, and in the interim, LouCity will wear its traditional logo.

“The good news is we have a traditional crest that represents so much success, three Eastern Conference titles and a pair of USL Championship titles,” said Estes. “We will be proud to wear our traditional crest in our new home.”
