Mac McClung plans to return to the Georgetown Hoyas after previously declaring for the NBA Draft, head coach Patrick Ewing told FOX Sports' Andy Katz.
"Both Mac McClung and Jamorko Pickett decided to test the [NBA Draft] waters. They both told me that both of them will be coming back," Ewing said.

However, Hazan Sports Management says that Ewing's comments are not true and McClung has not stated whether he is withdrawing his name from the NBA Draft.
Contrary to the recent reports, @mcclungmac has NOT notified anyone in Georgetown that he is withdrawing from the 2020 NBA draft or returning to Georgetown for the 2020- 21season. Mac has received great feedback thus far from NBA teams.

If McClung returns for his junior season that would be huge news. Not many analysts projected him to keep his name in the draft process past the deadline and eventually return to the Hoyas. Over the past several weeks, rumors swirled that McClung was going to either turn professional or transfer. A future without McClung seemed not too far away.
Presumably, Ewing and his staff can move forward with the group of players that they found inspirational success in a year ago. Last season McClung led Georgetown in scoring and steals. He was the team's go-to player in big moments and drew attention away from his teammates.
If he and Pickett do indeed return, the Hoyas have six scholarship returnees. They will also throw in the efforts of grad transfer Jalen Harris.
Also in the interview, Ewing confirmed what many already believed. Omer Yurtseven is not going to return for his grad season. That will pave the way for Qudus Wahab to become the primary option in the post.
McClung, Harris, Pickett and Wahab look to be the core for Ewing's fourth season at the helm.
