Today is the first day of traditional learning in the Pleasantville School District. From the start of the school year through this past Friday, only 50 percent of the student body was allowed on campus, with “Hybrid A” and “Hybrid B” groups alternating every other day. Now, all students will be on campus for the remainder of the school year, except those who choose to do 100 percent online learning. Superintendent Tony Aylsworth is grateful for the support through what has been a challenging start to the year.
“I want to express just how much we appreciate the response. I know some people are disappointed in the aspects of the plans, but overall I felt a really encouraging and uplifting sense from our community, and a very understanding approach to the challenges we are facing. So from the bottom of my heart, I thank them.”
Today is a late start, as outlined in the original school calendar.
