Mamou is enjoying their traditional Mardi Gras on this fat Tuesday.
Similar to other courirs throughout Acadiana, the Mardi Gras set out to get ingredients for a gumbo.
This morning, KATC's Jamie Angelle was gathered with participants and spectators as the festivities began.
Watch here as the Mardi Gras capture their first ingredient for the gumbo. Mardi Gras dressed in colorful traditional costumes and rode on horseback.
Music and dancing accompanied the celebration.
