Legacy Traditional Schools, which operates 16 campuses in cities around the state, including Goodyear, announced it will loan laptops to students who need them for the 2020-21 academic year.
“We remain committed to creating a learning environment that promotes academic success and ensures all students and families have access to an excellent Legacy education,” according to a July 21 release.
The laptop program will support families’ needs and facilitate remote learning amid COVID-19, the release stated. Interested Legacy families can enroll today and sign-up to request a laptop, which will be available for on-campus pick-up by Wednesday, Aug. 5, the first day of school.
The Goodyear campus, 16060 W. Lower Buckeye Parkway, opened last fall and serves students in kindergarten through seventh grade. Other West Valley campuses include Avondale, Glendale, Peoria and Surprise.
“At Legacy Traditional Schools, our focus is on making sure all students and families have the resources they need to be successful – no matter what COVID-19 throws our way,” stated Patrick Grady, associate superintendent. “With so many families facing such great uncertainty right now, the last thing they should have to worry about is their child falling behind when the new school year starts. This laptop loaner program is part of our commitment to creating a seamless remote learning experience that supports educational opportunities and success for all Legacy students and families.”
As part of Legacy’s larger effort to facilitate remote instruction in the fall, the network also recently announced its transition to the popular virtual platform Schoology. This distance-learning program will serve as an excellent and effective online option for families amid COVID-19 and the uncertainty surrounding the return to in-person instruction.
