The Appalachian Bowmen is an archery/bowhunting club based in Sussex County, NJ. We are located at 118 Shotwell Rd, Newton, Nj nestled in the Whittingham WMA. Our primary mission is to educate and provide instruction to junior archers, promote archery & bowhunting and have a safe, fun time while doing so. We would like to invite you to our Whittingham Traditional 3D Archery Rendezvous on April 17th, 18th, and 19th. The April “Rendezvous” is for traditional archery equipment only. But don’t worry we also host our Summer 3D shoot in August (15th & 16th) which is open to all archery equipment.
Do you have a Traditional bow? Want to bring some friends and have a great time? Come out and check it out for a day or bring the camping gear and stay the whole weekend. At the shoot you will find 2 ranges, each set up with approximately 20 Rinehart & Bigshot 3D targets. In addition there will be a practice range, kids range, novelty targets and our UFO disc launcher. If you really want to test your skill there will be a number of shooting competitions. You will also want to stop by our Barn to check out the vendors and support some local businesses. You can also win some prizes at our daily raffles.
There’s something for the whole family so bring everyone you know with a trad bow. It will be a great chance to introduce someone to archery in a relaxed, super fun atmosphere. If you're interested in joining the club find a club member at the shoot. Don’t forget your boots and weather appropriate gear, we go rain or shine. The gates open at 7:30 AM each day.
