The Cleveland Browns changed their uniforms back in 2015 to an awkward set that tried to combine futuristic elements with the old Browns look. And it really didn’t work.

The Browns evidently agreed because they decided to scrap that uniform set after just five seasons (Note: It takes about three years to initiate the uniform-change process with Nike and the NFL, so they really gave up on it after a couple seasons).

After spending the past few weeks heavily hinting at a traditional look for the Browns, which included a shadowed photo for fans to enhance, Wednesday’s unveiling confirmed what many fans expected. The Cleveland Browns have decided to look like the old Cleveland Browns again.

The video notably included Odell Beckham Jr.

These uniforms essentially mirror the look that the Browns wore before 2014. They dropped the “Cleveland” wordmark from the chests, “Browns” from the pants and added some old-school striped socks. An orange jersey and pants also appear to be excluded from this rotation.

The Browns are the second team this offseason to completely pull the plug on an ill-fated Nike redesign, joining the Buccaneers with a return to a familiar set. The Falcons went a different direction, going all in on the Nike redesign.

And fans were generally happy to see Cleveland make these changes.

Nicely done, Browns.
